About the game

A keyboard-first traditional roguelike on an isometric hex grid—turn-based, permadeath, and ruthless decision-making. Your class emerges from the skills you pick, not a menu. Manage scarce resources, out-position enemies, claim Hex Runes, then survive the climb back out.

Original Steam description

Hexagon Soup

Hexagon Soup is a keyboard-first traditional roguelike built around one feeling: the tension of taking “one more step.”
It’s turn-based and permadeath—your decisions define the run, and mistakes are permanent.

Descend through procedural floors, read threats as they unfold, and shape your character using a six-attribute stat system and skill-tree progression where your class is defined by the skills you choose (not the other way around).

Your goal is to recover Hex Runes hidden deep below—then make it back out alive.

The Loop

  • Scout early threats and manage scarce resources

  • Explore, reveal danger, and choose your fights

  • Fight tactically on an isometric hex grid—spacing, angles, and distance rings matter

  • Pick skills that steer your build; your “class” emerges from the tree

  • Push deeper for Hex Runes, then survive the climb back out

Build System

  • Stats: Strength, Agility, Vitality, Intelligence, Focus, Spirit

  • Class as an outcome: skill choices define your role over time

Key Features

  • Keyboard-first controls designed for fast, precise turn-based play

  • Turn-based + permadeath traditional roguelike fundamentals

  • Procedural dungeons built for replayability

  • Isometric hex-grid combat that refreshes positioning and space

  • Skill-driven progression where your class is the result of your build

  • Hex Rune objective that gives each run a clear arc

  • Clear, modern UX focused on readability and flow
