About the game
RESIDUUM is a first-person psychological horror game set in a decaying research facility. Armed with only a dwindling flashlight and a faulty heartbeat sensor, manage your power, uncover the truth, and escape what hides in the dark.
Original Steam description
RESIDUUM is a first-person psychological survival horror experience by Will Nightingale.
Abandoned in a decaying science research facility with only a shoddy flashlight, it’s up to you to take on the monsters that hide in the dark. Keep the light wound up at all times, be cautious when moving around, and make your way out alive. This is truly a unique horror experience.
SURVIVE THE MONSTERS
Your flashlight needs constant attention, and a faulty heartbeat sensor can warn you when danger is close. Each encounter brings a different threat. Learn when to move, when to find another route, and when to use your limited chance to fight back.
EXPLORE THE FACILITY
Search interconnected areas for keys, supplies, and clues. Solve item-based puzzles to open new routes, and piece together the story through recordings, photographs, and notes left behind.
ESCAPING THE DISASTER
Explore and progress the game your own way in a semi-open world. You must explore and figure a way out. Search for what went down here - what has happened to the others? Why are you here? What creature lurks within the shadows?
FEATURES
Explore a stylised underground facility filled with darkness and unease.
Wind your flashlight up as you search for a way out.
Unlock new areas through exploration and item-based puzzles.
Face distinct encounters that change how you approach each area.
Uncover the story through recordings, photographs, notes, and the facility itself.
Inspired in part by analog horror series such as The Mandela Catalogue, created by Alex Kister. RESIDUUM is an independent game and is not affiliated with or endorsed by its creator.
