The villagers disturbed your slumber. Now they’re storming your graveyard—and swelling the ranks of your army.

Nocthra is a dark strategy game with roguelike elements and a retro aesthetic. Take on the role of a necromancer, raise fallen attackers, and assemble an army capable of withstanding the next wave. Empower your minions, experiment with ability combinations, and lead your army through locations with different battle conditions.

Their Losses Are Your Reinforcements

Gather mana and use the bodies of fallen attackers to raise minions between waves. Decide which minions deserve your resources: the outcome of the next clash depends on your army’s composition.

You Prepare the Army—Your Minions Do the Fighting

Choose your starting roster of minions and prepare your army for the next wave. Your fighters attack on their own, while you determine your army’s composition, upgrades, and starting formation. Protect vulnerable ranged units, strengthen your front line, and exploit your minions’ advantages against each enemy.

Sigils That Change the Rules of Battle

Empower your minions with sigils that alter their stats, abilities, and appearance. Discover combinations that work together: teach your werewolves to seek out badly wounded enemies, then strengthen their attacks against targets with low health.

Simple Rules, Room for Tactics

Consider how attack types interact with unit natures: the same fighter can be a formidable opponent for some enemies and easy prey for others. Build an army whose minions cover one another’s weaknesses.

Choose Where to Fight Next

Your journey begins in the graveyard and leads to new locations. Between stages, choose your next battlefield while keeping the upgrades you’ve earned. Each environment calls for a different approach: by the river, two narrow passages hinder melee combat and force you to rethink your army’s composition.

Develop Your Own Strategy

Combine minions, sigils, and bonuses to bring out your army’s strengths. Build on a successful combination or adapt your approach to the upgrades you receive and the challenges ahead.
