Western nations ignited a "Thaumaturgical Revolution", infusing steam cores with magical forces, catapulting productivity through enchanted gears and runes.
Yet in the East, the secluded Qing Empire struggled in stagnation. Even with their "Magical Self-Strengthening Movement"—taming Western sea beasts to rebuild the Beiyang Fleet—the decaying empire remained shrouded in the shadow of technological inferiority.
