Originalbeschreibung auf Steam

Die Meeple is a roguelite dice deckbuilder where classic board games have rebelled. The boxes have burst open, the rules have been blown to pieces, and nobody intends to play nice anymore.

Choose your hero, prepare your dice bag, and set out to reclaim forgotten game boards. With every run, chart your own path through battles, elites, treasures, merchants, campfires, and encounters you may have been better off avoiding.

Combat is turn-based, but luck alone isn't enough. Read your enemies’ intentions, choose your target, and make the most of every roll. You can take the hit, set up a big turn, or hope for a well-timed critical hit. Sometimes everything falls into place. Sometimes you end up with exactly the die you didn't need.

Here’s what awaits you on the board: dice to build, enemies to outsmart, relics to collect and a map full of surprises. Every run tells a different story, and every roll can change everything.

Every turn, you roll your dice and decide what to do with them. A sword deals damage, a shield protects you, a poison die wears the enemy down turn after turn. The result matters, but your rerolls and your targets matter just as much.

  • Dice with very different roles: attack, shield, heal, area, piercing, lifesteal, poison, bleed, frozen…
  • Limited rerolls: reroll that bad die now, or save your rerolls for a bigger turn?
  • Milo Trotpack, the adventurer who trusts his dice: his first reroll each combat is free.

After every victory, pick your reward. Upgrade cards change your dice directly: a stronger face, an extra effect, a new way to play. Bit by bit, your bag becomes a machine built for your playstyle.

  • Cards that transform your dice: Chain Strike, Riposte, Ricochet and many more.
  • New dice to add: the Gambler’s Die for big hits, the Gemini Die, the Templar Die, the Barbarian Die…
  • No two runs alike: the rewards change, and so do your builds.

Enemies show their intentions before they act: attack, shield, buff or debuff. You know what’s coming, so find the best answer with the dice luck gave you.

  • Target wisely: take out the healer first, or hit the most dangerous one?
  • Status effects that change everything: poison, bleed, weak, vulnerable, frozen, shield…
  • Potions to save a turn: reroll, shield, poison, mirror potion…

Relics are permanent bonuses that change how you play your run. Some are simple and solid, others push you to build your whole bag around them.

  • Jackpot Face: if all your dice show the same number, those faces gain +2 for the rest of the combat.
  • Growing Fortune: one more reroll per turn, and even more as your bag grows.
  • Bleeding Relic: +2 damage… but you lose HP after every combat.

Every run is played on a new map. At each fork, choose your path based on what you need: gold, rest, a new die or a real challenge.

  • Fights and elites for the best rewards.
  • Merchants, campfires and treasures to prepare what comes next.
  • Unknown events: a lost meeple, a fairground host who is a little too friendly, a snoring chest…

Die Meeple takes place on a living game board, entirely hand-drawn. The pieces have character, the meeples have opinions, and every enemy has something to say before, during and after the fight.

  • Enemies with personality: the Pawn, always first on the casualty list, Rooko the grumpy tower, Knighto who charges first and thinks never…
  • A lighthearted tone, full of humor and small tactical disasters.
