About the game
Imprisoned in a mansion's cellar, you're the personal chef of Toufic, the Gourmet Zombie. Master real knife techniques, fight off the infected with kitchen tools and butcher the fallen in a PS1-style survival horror where you're either the chef… or the dish!
Original Steam description
In the wake of the zombie outbreak, you're one of the last surviving humans, but survival comes at a cost. Imprisoned in a mansion's cellar, you've been forced into the service of Toufic, the Gourmet Zombie. Once a bon vivant, Toufic is now a mort vivant with a refined taste for the macabre, and you're his personal chef.
Every morning, 'Pig' pays you a visit. Skinny and gangly, he earned his nickname not from his weight, but from the huge nose that dominates his features. Like pigs trained to find truffles, he scours the outbreak-ravaged world for the newly infected, bringing them (and the tools you need) to the mansion.
A survival horror kitchen, PS1 style
Gourmet Zombie is a love letter to late-'90s survival horror: fixed camera angles, tank controls, crunchy low-poly visuals and an old mansion battered by a storm. Explore the kitchen, the hall, the dining room, the gallery and the cell block below, where not every door should be opened.
Mise en place under pressure
Toufic expects perfection. Gather carrots, potatoes and onions, peel them, and master real knife techniques at the cutting board—slices, julienne, dice and brunoise, in a timing-based minigame where every single cut is graded. Chain clean cuts into combos, chase the PERFECT strike, and drop what you've prepped into the stockpot simmering on the range.
The dead don't wait
The infected don't knock. They shamble in while your back is turned, and you fight with whatever is in your hand: stab with the knife, hack with the cleaver, flatten them with the frying pan, even swing the mop. Blunt blows knock them down. Only a blade keeps them there.
Nothing goes to waste
A body on the floor is just another ingredient. Take the cleaver to it joint by joint in a brutal dismembering minigame, with blood fountaining and meat flying across the tiles. Then clean up: wash your bloody blades at the sink and mop the floor before the next course walks in. Blood stains everything it touches, and it stays until you clean it.
