About the game

Descrição original no Steam
On the 27th of June, 2843, the planet Ouro turned its missiles on the fleet in orbit. Two days later the navy answered by glassing the surface. Ouro was declared dead, the Redmont dynasty fell, and history recorded the sovereign Castor Redmont as the madman who murdered a world.

You play as Clara Redmont, his granddaughter. She never believed it. She is nineteen, setting foot on Ouro can earn her years in prison, and she came anyway.

Someone was the cause of it, and every playthrough picks someone different

Who, where and how all change every run, and it'll be up to you to solve the mystery. Fail to do so and the entire universe may be at stake.

Piece together hints found in notes discovered while exploring the procedurally generated underground labs.

Morse code is your master key

Doors, lock boxes, fabricators, terminals and puzzle rooms all come down to tapping letters in the dark. Some of the things living down here answer to it too.

The game teaches it for real. Adjustable words per minute, proper Farnsworth spacing, and difficulty presets that run from never-seen-a-dot to god of Morse code. You start out reading the chart taped to your HUD. You stop needing it. And as you go you unlock permission slots that save the codes you have already sent, so getting fluent buys you speed instead of repetition.

Everything below is hostile, and so is the dark

Health, nourishment, energy, and sanity. You will be eating freeze-dried food that outlived the civilization that packaged it, and hoping the label was honest. Let your sanity go and you cannot descend any further, and something down there starts paying attention to you.

You do have a pistol. It is a last resort, never an opening move. Staying alive comes down to clever use of Morse and whatever gadgets this run has put in your hands (shields, speed boosts, scanners, beacons), and no two descents kit you out the same way.

Features

  • Learn real Morse code, sending and receiving, from zero, with a difficulty curve that goes all the way up to operator speed
  • A mystery re-cast every run: a different culprit, a different site, a different anomaly
  • Procedurally generated labs, so the route down is never the route you learned
  • Morse-driven fabricators, puzzle rooms and enemies. You won't just be opening doors and lock boxes with Morse
  • Four survival meters, one of which makes things notice you
  • Scavenge and craft, and spend what you find on upgrades that stick
  • Equipment that comes randomized with branching upgrades, so no two descents are kitted the same

Built in the open

This game is developed almost entirely live on Twitch. I think the process should belong to everyone who wants to watch it, and I would be glad to see you in the stream or the Discord.

A note on Morse

The game teaches International Morse code, which spells out the Latin alphabet. The interface and subtitles are localized; the code itself is International Morse in every language.
