Salticidae Story is growing all the time. Here is what we are building now and roughly when we hope each part lands. Times can move, and we will post every change in the game's news.

A tiny ship, and a shelf of spiders

Your ship's cabin has a shelf of tanks, and every tank is a home. Feed your jumping spiders, mist their tanks and watch them grow. When one stops eating, a moult is coming: help it through, and it comes out bigger than before.

Walk out of your cabin to the Station. The Pet Store and the Arcade live on your Fieldphone: open the Pet Store for the feeders your spiders need, from fruit flies for the tiniest slings to crickets for the grown-ups.

Make your Keeper yours

Pick a body colour, a shape, eyes, ears and a hat. Then get dressed: overalls, a raincoat, a bee suit, a cape, a cosy knit, and space suits with bubble helmets for the trip between worlds. Your Keeper walks, runs, waves and sits, and turns to look at the bugs nearby.

Bugs to catch outside

Head out to the meadow and the garden. Sneak up on wild jumping spiders, beetles, roaches and mantises, swing your net, and see if it holds. Every catch goes into your Field Guide, and saved moults go in your trophy case.

Catching is gentle. A bug that gets away just runs off to try again another day.

Genes that really work

Every spider carries a genome of 120 traits: colour, morph, markings, fangs and more. They pass from parents to babies the way real genes do. Some are dominant, some are recessive, and some hide for a generation before they show up again.

• Pair two spiders and see what their babies could look like before you choose
  
• A clutch hatches and you keep three. Picking which three is the fun part
  
• Six species cross into hybrids, and each cross has its own colour tell
  
• Raise spiders to grow your Keeper level, raise clutches to grow your Breeder level, and new species join your shelf

Walk the Station and the meadow with other keepers and say hello with picture emotes. You can hide anyone you would rather not see.

An Arcade full of spiders

Open the Arcade on your Fieldphone. Trapline and The Nursery are online: jump into a quick match, or open a room and share its code with a friend. Your own spiders play, so the spider you bred is the one you play with.
