Original Steam description

Grow crops. Fund your game-making dream.

You are an indie game developer. You are also a farmer.
Your harvest pays the bills, while the project on your computer needs your time. Will you plant another crop, earn some money with part-time work, or save a few more hours for your game?

Indie Game Farmer combines pixel farming with game development. Tend your plot, plan your spending, and gradually make more room in your day for the games you want to create.

Start with a potato

Dig, sow, water, and sell your harvest at the shop. Potatoes, carrots, tomatoes, beans, and pumpkins offer different growing times, chances of reaching maturity, and returns. Choose a dependable crop or take a risk on a more valuable harvest.

Make each day count

Farm work uses up your available hours, and daily expenses keep coming. Spend your remaining time earning money through part-time work, or put it toward your next game project. Find your balance between paying today's bills and building toward tomorrow.

Turn your harvest into your next release

Unlock a computer, learn the basics of game creation, and work your way through a series of projects. Completed games bring in daily revenue, adding another source of income alongside your crops. You can even make Indie Game Farmer inside Indie Game Farmer.

Build a better little farm

Expand your plot, improve your tools, and increase your crops' chances of maturing and their potential yields. Complete harvest, inventory, and savings challenges for rewards. A larger plot also means higher daily expenses, so plan your investments carefully.

  • Pixel farming: dig, plant, water, harvest, and trade.
  • Crop choices: weigh growing time, maturity chances, and selling prices.
  • Time and money management: divide each day between farming, part-time work, and making games.
  • Upgrades and challenges: expand your land, improve your tools and crops, and work toward new goals.
  • Games within a game: finish development projects and earn ongoing daily revenue.
